Maoists Push Away Indians Working in Nepal Casinos

All Nepal Hotel and Restaurant Workers Union, a Maoist affiliated group, has threatened two Indians working in the Nepal casinos.

Casino Everest has announced that two of its Indian casino workers have received death threats from the Maoist group if they would not resign from their work.

The union has issued statements that the casinos should only employ Nepalis to work at their casinos.

The union also ordered the two Indian nationals to leave the accommodation given by the casino and told the casino employers to stop giving them free food and beverages, a benefit that comes with the job.

According to Casino Everest due to the eminent danger to their lives, the two Indian employees were forced to resign in Nepal.

At least two casinos, Casino Everest and Casino Royale, have received the fourteen demand list from the Maoist group.

The demand list includes that only Nepalis will work in the casinos.

The union demanded that other than the technical work, all non Nepalis working in the casino should be removed and replaced by Nepalis.

The Nepal government has not yet given any statement.
